FAQs about our candles
FAQs ABOUT OUR CANDLES
We use a custom blend of soy, beeswax, and coconut. We like the all-natural renewable qualities of the soy and coconut and the hot throw (smell when burning) but the slower burn of beeswax. We tried 100% soy, but they were just not strong enough for our lighter naturally-enticing aroma.
Soy wax is a natural, biodegradable and renewable resource, that creates a long-lasting and clean-burning candle. You can breathe easy knowing that this plant based wax does not produce the toxins normally associated with paraffin-based candles. Our candles are free of paraffin and synthetic fragrances.
Soy Wax is non-toxic, burns clean with almost no soot, and allows for maximum fragrance throw. Add very long burn times and a large burn pool, and you've got the ideal container wax. Our soy wax candles are a great way to get a lot of non-toxic light for less money.
We wanted to minimize our exposure to the mysterious product known as "fragrance." As an industry, perfumers are allowed to keep the ingredients to their fragrance blends private. It is a well-known fact that fragrances can include up to 100 different chemicals to try and mimic the natural smell of things. We wanted to be able to use the aromatherapy benefits of scent to help create moments of joy, peace, and comfort in your space.
But people say essential oils are burned off? We have done the research to choose oils whose flashpoints are higher than that of a candle being burned safely. The heat allows the fragrance to fill more space around you and creates an enticing aroma.
Is it drying out? What causes the white marks on my soy candles?
Occasionally, white marks may appear on soy candles due to the nature of the soy wax. The tiny, white looking crystals on the tops and sides of jars are called frosting and are very similar to the frosted look on chocolate. This is a natural characteristic of soy and vegetable-based waxes, and should not be treated as a flaw. It is strictly unique to pure soy candles. It will cause the candle to look dry, which is simply a characteristic of that crystal structure, but has nothing to do with the candle "drying out." It does not affect the quality, scent throw, or burn of the candle. You can safely burn a candle with a bloom without worry.
To minimize frosting, try to keep your candle out of direct sunlight and fluorescent lighting. Even changes in the weather can cause additional frosting. It is almost impossible to stop the soy wax from frosting.
Often times, it is called the "bloom." Actually, many customers are concerned if there is no frosting on their soy candles. It is a way that a person can tell if their candle is really made with pure, all-natural soy wax. It's seen as part of the soy experience!
Soybean wax can sometimes release excess (fragrance) oils due to extreme temperature changes due to shipping, i.e., going from hot trucks to an air-conditioned environment or going from cold trucks in the winter to heated stores). You can leave it or wipe it out with a tissue or paper towel. Sweat from soy candles does not affect the burn quality, and generally, the sweat drops will not show up again after your first burn.
For optimum performance of soy candles, please store in a cool area out of in-direct and direct sunlight. Also, it can be caused by the scent sweating or separating out of the soy candles. Scented soy candle jars are more likely to sweat when warmed too much during shipping. This is just the fragrance oils coming to the surface. Some soy candle manufacturers recommended that you blot the top with a Kleenex or paper towel to prevent spillage.

For optimal results, allow the wax to form a melted pool across the entire candle surface before extinguishing. Always keep your wick to about 1/8-1/4" tall. If you notice the wick is longer than that, please trim down before lighting.
CAUTION: Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard or injury. Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings or other flammable materials. Keep wick centered & trimmed to 1/8" to ensure even burning & prevent the flame from becoming too large. Burn only on a stable, heat resistant surface for no more than 4 hours at a time. Keep out of drafts. Discontinue use when only 1/4" of wax remains on the bottom. Do not move candle while burning or if the wax is hot. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
